South Australian Science Excellence Awards
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN SCIENCE EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The South Australian Science Excellence Awards are managed and coordinated by SA Great, with funding and logistical support from the Department of Further Education Employment Science and Technology (DFEEST) through the Science Technology and Innovation directorate.
The awards encompass all aspects of science, including maths, technology, innovation, engineering and design. All winners are recognised for their leadership in raising the public awareness of science in South Australia.

Winners and finalists shared in a combined total of $125,000 with the winner of each category receiving $15,000. The winner of the prestigious ‘Scientist of the Year’ category will received $50,000 in prize money.

YOUNG TALL POPPY SCIENCE AWARDS
As part of these Awards, the Young Tall Poppy Science Awards announce the Young Scientist of the Year at the South Australian Science Excellence Awards Presentation Dinner.
The SA Tall Poppy Science Awards are run by the Australian Institute of Political Science and are supported by the Department of Further Education, Employment Science and Technology and SA Great.
The awards recognise the achievements of researchers generally aged between 25 and 35 although "late bloomers" up to the early 40s are also eligible. For more information please visit www.tallpoppies.net.au/awards

Professor John Ralston, University of South Australian, creator and Foundation Director of the Ian Wark Research Institute. Professor Ralston’s research has involved one of the most significant advances in mineral processing in decades.
