ACTIVE SA WOMEN LEAD THE WAY
2007 Excercise Recreation and Sport Survey (ERASS) Annual Report Figures indicate 515, 000 South Australians, or 41.2%, aged 15 years and over are regularly involved in some form of excercise, recreation or sport at least three times a week.
That represents an increase of 33% (128, 000) more South Australians being regularly active than in 2001 when the ERASS report was first commissioned.

Simon Bryant and 'Cosi' promoting South Aussie produce
The Adelaide Showground Farmers Market was the location of a recent Buy South Australian promotion to encourage our youth to buy local produce and products. Celebrity Chef, Simon Bryant and media personality, Andrew “Cosi” Costello were on hand to lend their support to the campaign and addressed the crowd on the importance of eating healthy, fresh and local produce. Simon also put on a cooking display for the many hundreds of guests at the market on the day.
A Sharp Rise in Apprentices and Trainees
New figures show South Australia has achieved a sharp rise in the number of people embarking on apprenticeships and traineeships, and is outstripping the nation.

A Boost to Manufacturing
A major industry assistance package launched by the South Australian and Federal governments, will benefit job creation projects aimed at boosting manufacturing in Adelaide’s southern suburbs.
The Australian Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Senator Kim Carr, says the Industry Development Program will favour projects that strengthen and diversify South Australia’s manufacturing and technology base.

BAROSSA VOTED ONE OF THE WORLDS TOP TEN
The Barossa has been named one of the world’s top 10 wine destinations by the world’s largest online travel community, TripAdvisor.
The iconic South Australian wine region was the only Australian destination to make it onto the prestigious list, alongside European regions such as Bordeaux and Tuscany.
Tourism Minister Jane Lomax-Smith says the listing is significant because it was based not just on TrpAdvisor editors’ opinions, but also on the Barossa’s popularity with travellers.
