The unemployment figures for the nation has been released today with South Australia recording a slight drop of 0.2 percent to 7.2 percent. This represents 62,500 people in South Australia looking for work.

South Australia has now recorded three consecutive months of decline but it is still has the highest unemployment rate in the nation. There is also expected to be further pain to the jobs market with announcements of a number of job losses across the South Australian economy.

Tasmania has the next highest unemployment rate with a 6.8 percent unemployment figure. West Australian is at 6.3%, Victoria 5.9%, Queensland 5.8% and New South Wales at 5.2%.
